    At HOLT Truck Centers we set the standard for parts and service support, from extensive parts inventories to preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency service all backed by the technicians who know your needs and are prepared to meet them.

    We are looking for a Technical School/College Intern to join our team. This position is an entry-level Truck Shop Intern Technician for HOLT Truck Centers and will be under the guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor. The interns primary purpose is to learn and develop as a technician and receive on-the-job training (OJT) with an assigned mentor. This is a paid internship. The work hours are flexible within the available schedule of Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The schedule is to be determined by the Truck Shop Service Manager.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Required company-instructed training
    2. Maintain safety training and procedures
    3. Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service Leadership
    On-the-job training curriculum may include:
    • Perform maintenance on various on-highway diesel engines
    • Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components
    • Clean and/or lubricate equipment
    • Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning
    • Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools
    • Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components
    • Basic mechanical aptitude.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • The candidate will be working in inclement environments.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    • The candidate must be a current student enrolled in a College mechanical skills/diesel technical program.
    • Valid Drivers License
    • Basic Computer Skills
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and
    • Ability to work in outside conditions and in a shop environment.
