The Office of Information and Instructional Technology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University is seeking applicants for two Application Systems Analyst positions.
Under the supervision of the IT manager, these Application Systems Analyst positions assist and consult clients to define needs, system scope and objectives needed to fit those needs.
The positions will create and modify procedures to solve complex problems considering resource capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results and are responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance, and documentation.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Reviews, modifies, and writes program code for the implementation of business requirements utilizing current technologies and tools.
Provides technical oversight for the application of and compliance with technical standards such as code reviews, unit testing, and security reviews.
Prepares and reviews detailed specifications from which programs will be written to ensure compliance with business and technical requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High School/GED AND 11 years of relevant IT experience to include systems analysis / programming in business or university setting.
OR
Associate's Degree in IT or related field preferred AND 7 years of relevant IT experience to include systems analysis/ programming in business or university setting.
OR
Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field preferred. Plus 3 years of relevant IT experience to include systems analysis/ programming in business or university setting.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical customers and interact professionally with a diverse group of users and support staff.
Candidates must possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of discipline specific information technologies, working knowledge of SQL and professional software development experience.
Experience with Oracle (or another relational database) and SQL
Work experience using programming languages such as Python, PHP, C/C++, Java

Knowledge of JasperReports
Experience with database administration (Oracle, Postgres)
Experience developing web applications with PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery
