The Group Underwriting Consultant Senior is responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large and complex group cases Position is the most senior technical underwriting expert.+
  • Proposes rates for prospective business utilizing a combination of incumbent experience demographic census data manual rates For larger more complex new business opportunities will own all Underwriting pieces of the RFP including rate fee development rate fee templates financial questions Drive any escalation required with limits of authority review Performs post-sale reviews management reporting as applicable Coordinates with other departments to ensure accuracy consistency overall account reporting Prepares any benefit change increments decrements Assists in establishing rating administrative procedures May participates major multi-functional teams underwriting representative applicable Assists technical development underwriting associates mentoring on-job training peer review Demonstrates leadership recommending guiding efficiency improvements process changes opportunities improve Workflow toolset Negotiates collaborates partners internal Sales leads management engages Broker discussions meetings applicable Minimum Requirements Requires BA BS related field Minimum 7 years related experience or combination education experience provide equivalent background Preferred Skills Capabilities Experiences CPCU CLU LOMA HIAA PAHM insurance related courses preferred The salary offered for this specific position based number legitimate non-discriminatory factors set by Company The Company fully committed ensuring equal pay opportunities equal work regardless gender race category protected federal state local pay equity laws The salary range Elevance Health good faith believes range possible compensation role time posting This range modified future actual compensation vary posting geographic location market business considerations Even within range actual compensation vary depending above factors market business considerations No amount wages compensation until earned vested determinable terms conditions applicable policies plans Amount availability bonus commission benefits allocable particular employee remains Companys sole discretion unless paid consistent law Qualified applicants arrest conviction records considered employment accordance federal state local laws Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance California Fair Chance Act
