- Work with program and project managers to develop the organization's budget.
- Review budget proposals and funding requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with laws and other regulations.
- Explain budgetary recommendations to management, and organizational stakeholders.
- Analyze proposed plans and find alternatives if the projected results are unsatisfactory.
- Monitor organizational spending to ensure that it is within budget.
- Inform program managers of the status and availability of funds.
- Estimate future financial needs.
- Assists with required data tracking and compliance reporting.
- Conduct cost/benefit and other types of analyses.
- Submit budget recommendations for approval or rejection of funding requests.
- Collaborate with managers to develop final, consolidated budget.
- Oversee expenditure and identify trends in spending.
- Forecasts future budget needs.
- Work with program manager to create, edit and update standard operating procedures and training materials for incorporation into a manual for Export Control Officers (ECOs).
- Work with program manager to arrange operational audits to assess the effectiveness of ECO procedures, policies, and budget guidelines
- Organize historical data and electronic files on program share drive
- Work with program manager to collect timely, comprehensive, and accurate management information reports and statistical summaries to assist in the performance evaluation of ongoing agency activities and programs.
- BS degree in business, management, finance, accounting or related field
- 4 years of professional related experience in accounting and finance
- Specific experience with budget formulation and execution
- Specific experience documenting SOP's for the area of responsibility
