    We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Tax Manager – Global Tax Controversy within our Tax Department based in Tulsa, OK or Houston, TX .
    Managing federal, state and international tax controversy function for both U.S. and foreign entities. (over 400 legal entities) at all stages of resolution.
    Managing selected tax compliance activities as needed.
    Providing management with guidance on tax audit implications of transactions.
    Coordinating with counterparts within the organization to stay apprised of business activity.
    Staying current on and evaluating audit implications of all new tax legislation.
    Ensuring appropriate professional development of tax audit team.
    Performing tax research as needed.
    Other duties, as required.
    *Qualifications*Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
    Minimum of 10 years related experience; combination of public accounting and/or public company experience.
    Thorough understanding of federal tax audit processes and procedures.
    Demonstrated expertise in managing complex tax controversy matters at all stages of resolution including matters in litigation.

    Thorough understanding of federal tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements with the ability to interpret and apply relevant guidance effectively.

    Advanced technical knowledge of US federal income tax provisions including Subchapter C, Subchapter K and consolidated return regulations with demonstrated ability to research, communicate, and document issues.

    Experience with federal tax compliance.
    Demonstrated excellent project management skills and the ability to strategize and prioritize when working on multiple deliverables.

    Ability to develop positive and respectful working relationships with the IRS exam team as well as state and international authorities is critical.

    Highly accountable with proven ability to work independently and through team members, think critically and solve problems, and make decisions exercising sound business acumen.

    Strong management skills in coaching direct reports and other team members.

    Desired Qualifications:
    CPA.
    Master of Taxation or equivalent degree.
    Prior energy income tax experience.
    Prior state and international audit/audit management experience.
