- Performs daily quality control checks and calibrations on camera and completes required NRC/State documentation.
- Performs functional and/or perfusion rest and stress cardiac studies, including processing images for physician review.
- Follows radiation safety policy and NRC/State guidelines for handling of radioactive pharmaceuticals, including but not limited to conducting daily surveys of hot lab, exam room, camera and personnel; follows company procedure for the handling of spills and/or personnel contamination and appropriate removal, storage and disposal of decay.
- Prepares and tears down mobile operations at customer site, including but not limited to ordering, calibrating and inventorying radiopharmaceuticals needed for the day of service; assists in loading/unloading of equipment in/out of van; sets up/tears down DIS equipment in customer site; and disposes of DIS medical waste (both non radioactive and radioactive) in accordance with NRC/state regulations.
- Drives company van and follows Radiation Safety and Department of Transportation regulations for purpose of transporting equipment, medical supplies, radioactive material and staff to customer site.
- Compiles daily paperwork at customer site, including obtaining physician signature(s), photocopying, and faxing.
- Complies with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety and environmental standards.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in continuing education courses, educational programs, and maintaining of required licenses and certifications.
- Follow all standard operating procedures pertaining to radiopharmaceuticals, this may include but not be limited to: tracking of inventory, ensuring that the temperature control is adequate for storage, various reporting duties and/or the responsibility for audit functions.
- Place IV and heplock for patients in states where state law does not allow the CST/CCT to perform this function.
- At all times during the customer lease day, act under the general or the direct supervision of the physician, as applicable.
- Assist the Area Supervisor and Business Director in handling issues that arise at customer sites; NMTs are responsible for meeting and exceeding the needs of all physicians and their office staff.
- Along with Area Supervisor and Business Director, prepare hub records and filing according to state and other regulatory agencies guidelines, including patient medical records, billing records and customer schedules.
- Along with Area Supervisor and Business Director, may be responsible for camera fleet management at assigned hub(s) by working with the Customer Service Department and/or regional administrative staff in coordinating scheduled maintenance and repairs of cameras.
- Responsible for Radiation Safety in assigned location(s), including but not limited to maintaining of records, coordination of film badges for all clinical staff, coordination of disposal/removal of RAM waste, ordering and inventory of RAM supplies and assisting the RSO as needed as it relates to location(s) audits and maintenance of licensing.
- Assist the Area Supervisors and Business Director in performing random audits of NMTs in assigned location(s), assuring image quality control and radiation safety.
- In cooperation with the Area Supervisor and Business Director, participates in the training and mentoring of new NMT employees.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to our customers and their patients.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in all areas
- React in an emergency, assessing the situation and determining the best course of action or care for the patient using a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment; application of BLS measures in case of emergency if physician is not on the premises.

Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST - PRN to join our team
Digirad, a publicly-held company with approximately 600 employees nationwide, is one of the largest national providers of in-office nuclear cardiology imaging and ultrasound services to physician practices, hospitals and imaging centers.
Through our Digirad Imaging Solutions ("DIS") division, we offer certified personnel, required licensure, imaging system and other support and supplies for the performance of nuclear and ultrasound imaging procedures under the supervision of our physician customers.
We also sell medical diagnostic imaging systems including solid-state gamma cameras for nuclear cardiology and general nuclear medicine applications, as well as provide service and support on these products through our Diagnostic Imaging division.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the site Physician, provides health care services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential function satisfactorily.
Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with an emphasis in Nuclear Cardiology. Daily pushing/pulling of medical equipment up to 800 lbs.
Demonstrate current competency and skills by documentation of Certification, Associates or Bachelor degree in Nuclear Medicine. Active NMTCB or ARRT (N) license and if applicable a state license. All licenses must be in good standings. Must have current certification demonstrating successful completion of an American Heart Association BLS/CPR course.

On a routine basis-Must be able to stand for long periods of time; including- walking, stooping, turning and lifting up to 60lbs.
Required to push/pull up to 800lbs of medical equipment in and out of a van, in and out of multiple medical facilities, tight quarters and elevators.
Intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
