    Position Description:
    The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services organization is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Strategy, Planning and Operations team as Program Director, Bruin Secure. The Program Director will collaborate closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO), Strategy, Planning & Operations and a diverse group of highly talented technical project management professionals to collaborate with campus and IT Services leaders to oversee our UCLA Bruin Secure efforts for the campus enterprise.
    The Program Director, in close collaboration with the CISO and ACIO, will oversee the development and execution of the Bruin Secure Program, including the implementation and adoption of leading-edge tools and technologies that improve the campus information security practices, enterprise program communications related to information security programs, projects, or services and delivery of comprehensive educational and awareness programs to continually inform and improve knowledge of sound security practices for our community. The Director is responsible for developing program strategy, program and project charters and detailed project plans; defines program standards, metrics, program dashboards standards and tools to govern and manage the execution of projects; provides guidance on practice and application of project management methods; and developing a collaborative, high-performing team with the skills and capabilities necessary to achieve project objectives. Ensures effective alignment between project objectives and the Information Security strategic plan. Directly oversees multiple project managers responsible for ensuring projects are thoughtfully managed from initiation through execution according to established ePMO project management methods and aligned to project and organizational goals. The Director will champion diversity, equity and inclusion within area of responsibility and will implement programs to engage and motivate a diverse team of professionals at all levels.
    General responsibilities include: Partners with technical, organizational leadership and other key project stakeholders to define and establish program/project intake and prioritization process; ensures all projects within portfolios/programs are delivered on time, within budget and to an agreed quality level. Ensures projects/programs are defined, tracked and communicated in a consistent and effective manner; incorporates effective change and risk management controls into project plans. Serves as liaison for ePMO with management and subject matter experts; fosters positive, highly collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, and ensures appropriate resource allocation for projects to ensure delivery within planned scope. Directly or indirectly manages all staff assigned to projects; determines organizational structure, defines roles and responsibilities, reporting relationships and short and long-range staffing needs based on project goals; develops and manages team member professional development to align with needs of organization; leads the recruitment, selection and performance management for staff and partners with Human Resources related when needed; ensures effective and efficient utilization through appropriate assignments of staff members to projects. Develops and manages program/project budgets; ensures efficient and effective utilization of project funding; provides financial status reports as needed or requested. Convenes regular review of project portfolios with senior management, project sponsors and other stakeholders to track and assess project wellness.
    Special Instructions:
    This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).
    This position is a contract-appointed position which includes standard university health and wellness benefits; anticipated duration of the position is two years.
    The full range is provided; however, actual salary offers will take into account the wide range of department and candidate experience factors. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.
