General Summary:

The Sales Associate's main role is to assist in tasks such as receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise, while ensuring the store remains clean and well-organized.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Customer Service:

Portray a positive image of Carter's Ace Hardware.
Proactively help customers solve issues.
Greet and thank customers upon arrival and departure.

Have a friendly and outgoing attitude; collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Respond promptly and courteously to calls and pages.
Refer any unresolved customer complaints to a manager.
Possess good product knowledge and familiarity with store layout and product locations.
Offer personalized customer service throughout the store, focusing on ensuring customer satisfaction every time.

Store Operations:

Contribute to creating a positive, safe, and professional work environment.
Help with receiving, checking, and stocking merchandise in the store.
Maintain appropriate levels of back stock.
Ensure the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area are clean and organized.

Maintain a neat sales floor, including end caps and advertised merchandise.
Assist with merchandise rearrangements throughout the store.
Support Department Specialists with tasks like price changes and special orders.
Keep store signage up to date.
Operate a forklift if trained to do so.
Report any issues to the General Manager for resolution.
Share any merchandising, cost control, or sales ideas with the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings.
Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
Complete any other assigned duties.

Other Essential Requirements:

Education/Training
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience
Prior retail experience is desirable.

Physical Demands
Tasks include standing, walking, and lifting objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
