    4/11/2024Job Summary:
    Assists management in the daily education and auditing of coding operations. Reviews and evaluates coding completed by coding staff and reports to management.

    Responsible for conducting and coordinating audits of provider's professional documentation in both the clinic and hospital chart to ensure that the correct services are being billed; provide education and consistent feedback to the provider's and provide reports to appropriate stakeholders.

    Reviews charge tickets and related documentation to ensure documentation supports the level billed by providers. Ensures physician services are coded according to guidelines.

    Here's what you'll do when you join us:
    Conduct internal audits of medical documentation and coding for clinic providers, hospital providers, rehab providers and ancillary services.
    Conduct internal audits on coding completed by coding staff and report to management.

    Communicate the results of the audits to the providers/coders and assist in the development of provider education based on audit findings.

    Provide follow-up reviews after initial training sessions and determine if additional education is needed.

    Prepare written reports to trend provider levels of service, documentation issues and detailed audit reports to communicate the results to the Compliance Committee.

    Review of provider documentation for quality concerns and reporting of documentation that reflects any patient neglect, abuse, inappropriate behavior, etc.

    Provide formal and informal coding and regulatory education to all providers to include coding and documentation requirements as directed by Federal and State regulations and the AMACoordinate bi-yearly external audits and reviews of coding accuracy and provider documentation.

    ICD-10 SupportIf you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:Certified Professional Medical Auditor (or eligible for exam) with 2-3 years previous hospital, clinical or coding experience.

    One year of experience in auditing role, medical record review, or other insurance industry experience.
    Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding preferred.
    Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
