*HME/DME Billing Specialist**6 month CTH**Remote or Onsite if local**Providence Health and Services*Responsibilities:Insurance Verification:
Verifying insurance coverage for patients to ensure that the prescribed medical equipment is covered by their insurance plan.

• Claims Processing: Submitting claims to insurance companies accurately and in a timely manner. This involves understanding billing codes (such as HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 codes) and ensuring that claims comply with insurance guidelines.
• Documentation Review: Reviewing medical documentation to ensure that it supports the medical necessity of the prescribed equipment and meets insurance requirements.
• Billing Inquiries: Handling inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing issues, claim statuses, and reimbursement processes.
• Payment Posting: Recording and reconciling payments received from insurance companies and patients, and updating patient accounts accordingly.

Denials Management:
Managing claim denials by insurance companies, identifying reasons for denials, and taking necessary steps to appeal denied claims.

*Experience:* 1-2 years of hospital billing experience (plus if it is in DME or HME specifically)

• 1-2 years of claims processing
• 1-2 years of system use (or willingness to learn a new system)
• Customer service experience is a plus
