    Pay PhilosophyThe typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

    Description This is an entry-level position, typically part of a structured, comprehensive training program (normally a college hire, trainee or part of a graduate scheme). Under the direct supervision of a manager, involved in assessing risks and making/supporting recommendations for underwriting decisions.

    Responsibilities

    Begins building relationships with key external parties (brokers, agents). Focuses heavily on developing underwriting skills and relationships with internal stakeholders and partners (e.g., UW Support, Claims, Actuarial, Directors of Underwriting in GRS North America, etc.). Focuses heavily on understanding internal processes, systems and tools, and GRS`s business plan and product offering.

    QualificationsDegree in Business or equivalent required

    May be undertaking a professional Underwriting qualification

    Demonstrates strong people skills

    Demonstrates ability to understand complex analysis

    Meets academic performance as designed through local criteria
