Physician Assistant - Surgical Oncology

The search is on for a skilled Physician Assistant in Surgical Oncology. We are looking for someone with firsthand experience in the Outpatient Clinic, Operating Room, and Inpatient settings.

Job Competencies

Collaborate with physicians and the team to manage Surgical Oncology Patients in various department areas such as GI, Melanoma, Sarcoma, and more.
Provide patient care across the care continuum, demonstrating population-based competencies.
Assist in managing new patients, follow-ups, and post-op care in the Outpatient Clinic.
Support in surgeries, conduct assessments, and oversee post-operative care in the Operating Room.
Handle inpatient care during hospitalization and post-surgery in collaboration with the clinical team.

Medical Knowledge

Demonstrate a strong medical knowledge base and proficiency in the care of Surgical Oncology patients.

Professionalism

Display commitment to professional relationships and adhere to regulatory guidelines and institutional standards.

Practice-Based Learning

Engage in continuous learning and apply knowledge effectively.

System-Based Practice

Analyze and optimize the system of care for better practices.

Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

Required:

Meet degree requirements as specified by the Texas Board of Nursing or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.

Preferred:
Experience in an Advanced Practice Provider role and Oncology setting.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Required:

Obtain written authorization from relevant boards and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

MAY BE REQUIRED:
Eligibility for limited prescriptive authority in Texas.
