    OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
    The Director will oversee the day-to-day functions of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) department and staff including compliance with state, local and federal agencies. Responsible for managing any permitting and associated risk assessment. Lead the efforts of site Emergency Action Plan (Ammonia) and partner with site Physical Security Team with all Life Safety System programs and procedures. Lead the implementation of EHS policies and management systems, mentor the EHS team, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability cross functionally.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Develop a strong and sustainable compliance and risk management minded EHS Team that are integrated in daily business operations. Promote accountability on the team against operational effectiveness.
    Lead a cross-functional team to develop and implement injury prevention and reduction plan. Integrate the actions required to achieve sustainable injury reduction results in each Work Center operational goals and metrics.
    Deployed short- and long-term strategies to promote and excel the Sustainability agenda including waste reduction initiatives and carbon footprint.

    Use data (quantitative and qualitative) to analyze trends and develop action plans that are align with business strategic plans (Critical Success Factors).Lead, mentor, and/or participate in event and incident investigations to ensure causal factors are identified, prevention steps are taken and validated, and lessons learned are shared and leveraged in a timely manner.

    Manage permit recordkeeping activities (Air, Wastewater, Tier II, PSM, etc.) and ensure compliance activities are documented.
    Ensure the VelocityEHS system is fully leveraged to ensure business continuity against compliance calendar.

    Support and develop Process Safety Engineer ensuring all capital enhancement activities and Emergency Action Plan are communicated timely to agencies.

    Through benchmarking, government relations, and industry trend analysis, ensure emerging risks and regulations are identified and escalated to COO.Develop and maintain excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships (e.g., regulatory agencies, Plant Managers, Operations and Engineering Leaders).Drive a collaborative, problem-solving culture that supports open reporting and sustainable achievement of business results.


    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    BS or BA Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related discipline/experience.10+ years of EHS experience leading and implementing EHS compliance and risk management programs in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated sustainable results.10+ years of experience leading and supervising a team of EHS, engineering, and/or operations professionals.
    Previous experience with PSM, Air Permit (RTO), Radiation Safety, Fire Safety, and Crisis Management a plusYou should be proficient in:Bachelor's DegreeLeadership / People Management#J-18808-Ljbffr
