    Our early-stage team is seeking an AR/VR Product Designer to design and develop our first publicly available AR/VR headset.

    The AR/VR Product Designer will collaborate closely with other passionate engineers who have successfully shipped AR/VR hardware from companies like Meta, Sony, and Apple.

    With our team, you will explore, prototype, and build experiences that define the future of how people interact with wearable technology.


    Your Responsibilities:
    Develop and iterate rapid models of proposed design solutions for the purposes of communication and evaluation across cross-functional teamsWork across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping productEstablish top-level design architectures and implementation methodologies for the teamClearly document and communicate design decisions with internal stakeholdersWork with cross-functional team in assessing project/risk readiness for PD owned deliverablesAbility to create scalable solutions while solving tactical problemsCollaborate and manage work with suppliers and vendors, including Asia based supply chainsAbility to travel, as required, up to 20% (domestic and international)


    Qualifications:6+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing, specifically in technical and process development at NPI, technical problem solving, fixture manufacturing or operation skills1+ years of experience in AR/VRExperience working on metal and plastic manufacturing processes, including molding, stamping, die casting, CNC machining, welding, glue dispensing, pad/silkscreen, painting, surface finishing, and assemblyExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CADExperience in conducting DOEs to drive process and data collectionExperience with statistical process control tools to analyze data from DOE and part qualification and to provide solutions and recommendations to the engineering teamExperience working with Asia supply chain vendors (especially in Mainland China)Experience in the full lifecycle of design and developmentincluding ideation, prototyping, development, backward compatibility, failovers, validation, and user researchExperience designing handheld and wearable electronics for high-volume manufacturingExperience with Siemens NX/TeamcenterMandarin is a plusWhy UNISON?UNISON offers competitive salaries and equity packages, giving all employees an ownership stake in what we're working hard to build.
