    Description

    Our client, a well-established electrical contractor, is seeking a BIM Modeler Lead to support upcoming projects and help guide modeling standards across their VDC/BIM team.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on Revit modeling while also leading coordination efforts with other trades. The BIM Modeler Lead will play a key role in developing detailed models, producing layout drawings, and supporting field teams with accurate model-driven construction documentation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain detailed Revit models based on marked-up construction drawings.
    • Prepare layout drawings and model-based documentation for field installation and prefabrication.
    • Set up Revit views, worksets, sheets, schedules, and browser structures for project teams.
    • Perform 3D coordination with other trades using coordination tools.
    • Support clash detection and model coordination processes.
    • Work closely with field teams to produce dimensioned drawings for layout and prefabrication.
    • Assist with laser scanning coordination and converting scan data into usable models.
    • Train and mentor junior modelers on BIM workflows and software tools.
    • Help develop and maintain company BIM and modeling standards.
    • Manage electronic documentation and drawing files for project teams.

    Required Qualifications

    • Strong proficiency with:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Navisworks
    • AutoCAD
    • Autodesk Design Review
    • Experience working with Revit worksets and worksharing processes.
    • Strong understanding of 3D modeling and layout within construction environments.
    • Experience with MEP or electrical coordination across multiple trades.
    • Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, sheets, schedules, filters, and project structure.
    • Familiarity with importing external files such as spreadsheets, images, and documents into Revit models.
    • Experience producing construction-ready model drawings for field teams.

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience with laser scanning workflows and point cloud modeling.
    • Exposure to prefabrication modeling and construction layout.
    • Experience supporting VDC/BIM coordination across multiple disciplines.
    • Experience training or mentoring other modelers.
