    Description

    PART TIME BUS DRIVER

    The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a beautiful and thriving community of 44,678 located at the foot of Lake Winnebago. Fond du Lac is a great place to live and work and its recreational opportunities are second-to-none. In addition, Fond du Lac is only an hour away from Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Madison and all those communities have to offer.

    The City is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Bus Driver. The purpose of the position is to operate a public bus in the transportation of citizens according to predetermined routes and timetables during the hours of 5:45 a.m. 6:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants must have flexibility to work split shifts and assume other route assignments when needed. Work schedule will be a minimum of 20 hours/week, and other hours as needed to conduct Transit services.

    Hourly contractual wage - $22.33 at time of hire; $23.47 within 6 months; $25.10 within 12 months; $26.10 within 18 months; $27.94 within 24 months; $29.11 within 30 months wage schedule). In addition, pandemic hazard pay equal to four dollars ($4) per hour for all hours worked in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Additional benefits include paid time off; health, life, dental, and vision insurance; long-term disability; 457 and Roth retirement plans; and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System. The financial strength of the WRS is attributable to its unique plan design, funding discipline, strong governance, and the effective investment strategies of the State of Wisconsin Investment Board.

    The successful candidate will have an excellent driving record. Possession of a Wisconsin Commercial Drivers License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements is preferred; however, willing to train to obtain licensures.

    Applicants will need to possess and carry a cell phone to conduct transit emergency call-ins.

    Applicants will be required to send proof of all endorsements. Good customer service skills are also required. Previous bus driving experience preferred.
