- Review curriculum materials in advance to prepare for classes
- Develop familiarity with the subject matter for accurate interpretation
- Provide sign language interpretation during classroom sessions and discussions
- Facilitate clear and productive communication between students and teachers
- Support students by clarifying concepts and reinforcing academic knowledge
- Collaborate with teachers and colleagues to create an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
- Document and maintain accurate records of interpreting services
- Active Georgia license as a Sign Language Interpreter
- RID Certification
- Proficiency in academic subjects and educational environments
- Ability to adjust to diverse learning styles and preferences
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated respect for diversity and cultural nuances
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within an educational team
