    Description

    Latin is a coeducational day school serving 1,196 students in junior kindergarten through 12th grade. It boasts a vibrant community that comprises 152 faculty, 103 staff, and approximately 6,000 living and active alums.

    OVERVIEW:
    The Director of Alumni Engagement will oversee the School's efforts to engage its network of alumni.

    This includes coordinating Alumni Board meetings and initiatives; creating and executing a suite of reunion, cultivation, and stewardship events; partnering with divisional leadership and faculty to engage current students and bring awareness to post-graduation alumni programming; creating content and deploying alumni communications; and working with the Development Department to identify and cultivate alumni donors and prospective donors.

    This is an in-person position with some nights and weekends required.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Volunteer Management:
    Partner with the Alumni Board President to create board initiatives, meeting content, and coordinate all action itemsOversee all Alumni Board CommitteesSelect Reunion Planners and work with them to create events and cultivate donations in milestone yearsServe as the school's liaison to Class Reps and Senior Class RepsCoordinate volunteers across the country to host engagement events in other major citiesWork with volunteers, as needed, to scan and tag archival documents, photos, and memorabilia

    Event Planning and Strategy:

    Design a host of annual events including the school's various reunion events, Young Alumni Holiday party, Life After Latin programs, Alumni Week, and Regional Events.

    Staff events with volunteers and school leadership, as needed.
    Analyze current ROI of events and create new engagement events, as needed.

    Communications:

    Create content and deploy bi-monthly electronic newslettersCreate content for weekly social media posts and monitor commentsEnsure that alumni webpages are up-to-date and make updates as needed.

    Collaborate with Assistant Director of Annual Giving on alumni fundraising and stewardship messagingSegment alumni audiences and create unique messaging

    Fundraising Support:
    Partner with the Development Department to solicit all Alumni Board members (for a gift of any size).Partner with the Major Gifts Officer to create strategies for alums capable of making gifts of $10,000 or more

    Operations:
    Track Alumni engagement efforts and create metrics for successOversee alumni-related expenses and budgetsIdentify audiences and segmentations for emails, other mailings, and event invitationsKeep detailed notes in the school's database regarding interactions with alumni

    School-Wide Partnership:
    Attend key school events and serve as an enthusiastic representative at these functionsProvide assistance to alumni and current studentsCoordinate alumni speakers in classrooms and assemblies, as needed

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:
    Five or more years demonstrated experience in volunteer managementExperience with alumni programming preferredBachelor's degree

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    Organized self-starter, with impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, competing prioritiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative work style with a focus on providing exceptional service across multiple constituenciesAbility to work in a high-paced environment and effectively pivot from one discipline to the next on a frequent basisStrong technical skills with a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Physical Requirements:
    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerAbility to work some evenings and weekends
