    JOB TITLE: Diesel Mechanic (Maintenance)REPORTS TO: Maintenance ManagerJOB TYPE: Full-time, Non-ExemptLOCATION: 6225 Thompson Rd, Syracuse, NY 13206HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PMOVER TIME: Saturday's 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM as Needed and/or RequestedCOMPENSATION: Based on Experience & Skills

    PURPOSE:The purpose of this position is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, and heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
    • Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine machines.
    • Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, skid steers).
    • Repair, replace, recondition, dissemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
    • Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
    • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
    • Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
    • Communicate with drivers and customers with a professional attitude.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of two (2) years' diesel mechanic experience.
    • Must have own tools.
    • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) a plus.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
    • Squat and kneel.
    • Bend and twist as appropriate.
    • Sit/Stand for long periods at a time.
