    Description

    We manufacture chocolate in our Philadelphia headquarters and partner with international factories to produce high quality and great tasting confections and gift products for everyday and seasonal occasions.

    Our licensors are the best in the industry including Mars, Mondelez, Disney, Nickelodeon and many more.

    The Director of Manufacturing is the lead for all production operations, is responsible for all facility maintenance functions, acts as a resource for sales/marketing efforts, and ensures compliance with all company safety and quality standards.

    The Director of Manufacturing is an advocate for growth of the manufacturing business in an efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner.

    On-site Production:

    Manages all production activities for a three-shift operation.
    Manages union and temporary labor workforce.
    Writes and manages production and production schedules.
    Provides material requirements, with production timing, to purchasing department.
    Develops and maintains the production budget.


    Performance Tracking:
    Tracks against key performance indicators.
    Provides feedback to direct reports on performance.
    Reports KPI performance to management.
    Implements actions to increase performance.

    Manages maintenance staff.
    Directs work activities of maintenance staff.


    Quality:
    Works closely with the QA department to ensure compliance with all corporate quality standards and GMP's.
    Coordinates with QA department for continuous training.


    Strategic Planning:
    Actively participate in the strategic planning process.
    Leads implementation of capital investments in the manufacturing environment.

    Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or Business.
    ~7+ years of experience in a food production environment.
    ~2 years experience in a Chocolate manufacturing management role is strongly preferred.


    Experience leading and motivating a large team of associates consisting of shift managers, line supervisors, production associates, and outside resources.

    Ability to manage a union and temporary labor force.

    Effective communication skills to motivate, inform and collaborate with all parts of the organization including Production staff, Sales, Marketing, and senior management.

    Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to define problems, gather facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate senior management where needed.

    Knowledge and experience in food manufacturing operations, practices, and technical methodologies including TPM, Lean Manufacturing, SQF, Food/Drug GMP's, etc.

    Experience with enterprise software.
