    We're searching for a Director of Specialty Care, someone who's ready to be part of the best ranked children's hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation.

    In this position, you will oversee the clinical, administrative, facility and human resources activities for the departments and locations managed.

    Ensure that adequate resources, training, and the highest standards for pediatric health care services are provided in a competent, cost-effective, developmentally appropriate and family centered manner.

    Develop, direct, and maintain the Department's vision for growth and leadership. Requires travel to Specialty Care locations weekly and 24/7 on call support for emergencies (by phone).

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the decision-making process for departmental issues.
    • Supervise all direct reports within the Ancillary Services and Outpatient Services departments at all regional Specialty Care locations. Coordinate training activities for staff, assuming an active role in the management of team meetings and activities.
    • Direct departmental operations to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, age-appropriate, cost-effective care and/or service within a family-centered care environment, as measured by patient outcomes, variance analysis reports, patient satisfaction scores, complaints (patient, parent, and physician), regulatory compliance, new programs/initiatives, and strategic growth in the market.
    • Demonstrate astute fiscal accountability for areas of clinical responsibility as evidenced by appropriate management and justification of resources, which includes personnel, equipment, supplies and capital and revenue enhancement/expense reduction, market demand, competitive analysis, and location expansion.
    • Direct and appraise the assessment of technological advancements in equipment to provide the highest quality, cost effective and safest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and services for Specialty Care. Participate in the development and refinement of potential programs and new services
    • Direct collaboration with the service chiefs, Community Chief Medical officers, Community Chief Surgical Officers, physicians, and departmental leadership. Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards and audits related to radiation therapy, laboratory, and pharmacy services.
    • Direct and maintain proper staffing levels, educational programs for staff development and administer staff compliance with licensure requirements of applicable state and federal regulations.
    • Responsible for setting policies and procedures associated with the job's purpose and essential responsibilities. Regularly review departmental policies, procedures, and processes to ensure evidence-based practice and to comply with all state And federal regulatory agencies including NRC, TDH, BRH, Joint Commission, CAP, CLIA, and Medicare.
    • Act as administrative liaison for medical, surgical, therapy and TCH IDS departments for all operational aspects of services provided by Specialty Care. Develop positive internal (local TCPs, facilities, security, biomed, IS) and external (property management, vendors, city utilities, community partners, etc.) working relationships.
    • Conduct and lead special projects as needed for administration.

    • Ensure that Joint Commission requirements specific to your department are fulfilled but also understand the linkage between your department's requirements and those of the system.
    • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to ensure all Joint Commission requirements are met.

    Requirements:

    • Required bachelor's degree technical or clinical healthcare field AND master's degree business, nursing, or a healthcare related field
    • 5 years healthcare operations experience, which must include at least three (3) years of management experience.
