Assists with patient care under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.

Recognizes, obtains and reports appropriate data to the staff.
Provides patient care services to include basic hygiene, bathing and feeding functions.
Appropriately documents findings and information.
Communicates appropriate information to the staff as required.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.

Has access to minimal risk medications contained in kits, trays or packs associated with certain procedures, as well as IV fluids stored in patient care areas and automated dispensing units.

Collect specimens in accordance with established policies and final check. Visit patients to assess care received using patient family focused care and customer service guidelines.

Successful passing of Fundamentals of Nursing Course as determined by the institution in which they are enrolled; Currently participating in a Nursing program at an accredited institution; The Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
