    Click on the link below to learn what our employees have to say about position is within the Care Solutions business segment and has responsibility at the Mapleton IL plant engineering department in a project engineering role which is multi-user site mainly focused on the practice of fatty acid and quaternization based process technologies.

    This position will support primarily the Mapleton site and regional support within Care Solutions, as needed. With regional support, this position will require travel based on where the support is needed.

    This position will support both expense and capital-based projects at the site, from conceptual design, through basic engineering and construction providing detailed scope of work.

    This position will also support production led initiatives that require equipment or piping changes as needed.

    This position will also support facility improvements and building/grounds maintenance to ensure site infrastructure maintains integrity such as painting, roofing, concrete and asphalt improvements, building maintenance and utilities.

    This position will provide project engineering expertise in support of the elements of OSHA PSM (MOC's, PHA's, PSSR's, P&ID's, PSI, etc.).

    Completes assigned action items related to safety and quality such as PHA items, safety observations, and COPA's. Support the continual improvement of the sites mechanical integrity plan.

    This position will provide estimates for projects including specifying equipment and costs for internal and external services such as maintenance support and contractors.

    Projects with be coordinated with other teams onsite and project engineer will ensure safety is part of all aspects of their job.

    RESPONSIBILITIESDevelopment and execution of CAPEX projects up to $5 Mil USD for the purpose of improving safety, quality, efficiency or capacity of process equipment.

    Support projects from conceptual engineering, through basic engineering, detailed engineering, and construction including cost estimates/budgets for equipment and services (internal and contract) for all phases and submittal of CAR's and management of budgets via EPIC and SAP.Provide project schedules and work with interdepartmental groups to implement projects by minimizing the impact to the plant and productionCalculation, design and specification of equipment, piping and instrumentation including P&ID's and detailed design drawings.

    Work with equipment vendors and contractors to specify and purchase equipment and materials for projects.
    Manage MOC's, PHA's, DSR's, PSSR's, LOTO's, CSE's, PSI, HW and SWP for all phases and aspects of projects.
    Develop new procedures for projects and train appropriate site personnel on procedures and installations as necessary.
    Ensure appropriate new spare parts and inventory for projects as well as any new PM plans required.
    Ensure projects are implemented safely, commission new equipment and provide startup support.
    Support locally and regionally as needed.
    Trained in Evonik PM / PR procedures and ensure BTD's are followed related to capital investments.
    EHSQ supportParticipate in plant PHA's for projects.

    Complete all necessary LOTO (lock-out tag-out), CSE (confined space entry) and hot work permits as necessary for work required in the plant by both internal and external resources.

    Ensure compliance to safety permits and programs.
    Ensure PSI remains up to date and accurate for the site.
    Support incident investigations and environmental needs.
    Assist with upkeep and compliance of the MOC system.
    Support quality and complaints as needed.

    Review and complete assigned action items (Incidents, COPA's, TAN's, PHA's), document changes using the correct systems, and communicate to site personnel.

    Support internal and external compliance audits.
    Support the continual improvement of the site MI program.
    Plant and Production supportEnsure production requested changes on equipment and processes are reviewed and completed in a timely manner.
    Provide engineering support as necessary for troubleshooting equipment and processes.
    Support internal and external productivity initiatives.

    REQUIREMENTSB.S (minimum) in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing facility or equivalent experience.

    Project Management, Cost estimating, and project implementation required.
    Experience handling large Capital ProjectsExperience with process hazard analysis (PHA) and HAZIDs/HAZOPs is highly preferred.
    Experience with OSHA CFR PSM and EPA RMP regulations and compliance is highly preferred.

    Equipment design, sizing and specification experience is requiredDCS control system knowledge or experience if desireableComfort working in a plant environment and on teams comprised of operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, safety, and planning and working directly on the plant floor.

    Perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
    Able to work independently with a high level of initiative and self-starting skills.
