    Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the Director of Marketing and Communications-Workforce Development and Community Services position. This is a full-time professional staff position located at the VU Main site. The Director of Marketing and Communications plays a pivotal leadership role and is responsible for developing and executing dynamic marketing strategies and initiatives for Vincennes University's Workforce Development training programs. This position is integral in elevating marketing performance, streamlining processes, and optimizing workforce and marketing operations. Collaborative engagement with the Office of External Relations is essential for large-scale or multi-departmental projects.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Strategic Leadership: Lead implementing the organization's go-to-market strategy, overseeing prospecting, outreach, service delivery, and workforce development initiatives.
    • Executive Collaboration: Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President and Vice President to craft compelling presentations, proposals, and talking points for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Public Relations: Draft and distribute press releases and manage media inquiries for Workforce Development and Community Services.
    • Marketing Campaigns: Develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns for various programs.
    • Advertising: Create advertising materials for diverse departments within the division, encompassing Business and Industry, Military Education, Continuing Education, Generations, Adult Basic Education, and TRIO programs.
    • Reporting and Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze marketing strategies, measuring return on investment and brand awareness.
    • Knowledge Mastery: Stay current on Workforce Development and Community Services programs and policies, understanding their interplay with VU's broader initiatives.
    • Travel: Occasionally travel as required.
    • Other Duties: Fulfill any additional responsibilities essential for efficient and effective outreach management
    Required and Preferred Qualifications

    Education:
    • Required: Associate's degree in communications, marketing, or business.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or business.
    Experience:
    • Minimum of two years of progressive marketing or public relations experience.
    • Preferred experience in higher education or workforce development communications.
    • Proficiency in copywriting and social media advertising.
    • Required graphic design experience, preferably with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Demonstrated project management expertise.
    • Experience with educational programming and familiarity with adult learner education is desirable.
    Skills:
    • Strong work ethic with a commitment to meeting critical deadlines.
    • Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in college-level language suitable for marketing and advertising.
    • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
