As a Cloud Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud-based data infrastructure, with a main focus on Databricks as a critical component.
In addition to Databricks, you will be encouraged to work with a range of cloud data technologies to ensure our data architecture aligns with our business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with partners to refine data architecture strategies that align with business goals. Develop data architecture blueprints that support current and future needs
Design and implement effective data models that enable efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis, while ensuring data integrity and quality
Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to design scalable and cost-effective data solutions
Work on improving data integration processes, ensuring smooth data flow from various sources into Databricks, and improving data quality and consistency
Establish robust data governance practices and security measures to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data privacy standards
Implement robust monitoring solutions for Databricks workloads and maintain comprehensive documentation of Databricks configurations and optimizations
Work closely with Data engineers, BI Engineers, and other partners to understand their requirements and provide them with the tools and infrastructure needed for effective data utilization
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
8 or more years of demonstrable experience as a Cloud Data Architect or a similar role with expertise in cloud-based data architecture along with proven Databricks experience
Strong proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Knowledge of data security, compliance, and governance standard processes
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical partners
