SummaryProvides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed.

The Golisano Children's Hospital Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center (PPEC) is a friendly and nurturing place for children who require skilled nursing care. PPEC provides an array of services for children with special medical needs including day health care, developmental planning and interventions, therapies and rehabilitation, case management, and parental support and education.
Children who take advantage of our unique program receive the benefits of socialization and peer stimulation while receiving tender loving care when they are not at home.
PPEC is staffed with skilled nurses and CNA's trained to identify and treat acute illnesses or chronic conditions to avert possible hospitalization and interruption in the childs treatment program.Our staff works directly with pediatricians, therapists, social workers, developmental specialists, teachers, pediatric subspecialists and dieticians to provide comprehensive medical care.
