American Hydro is currently looking for a Machinist Co-op to add to the family at our York, PA facility. We are tight-knit group that takes a great deal of pride in what we produce.

Job Description

Develop understanding of safety requirements to work in large machineshop environment.
Obtain exposure and involvement with tasks required for the machinistposition.
Learn how to operate machines, use hand tools and inspection gagesQualifications
Follows safety rules and requirements
Accountable to follow instructions of Machine Shop personnel
Demonstrate correct operation of machinery and hand tools
Technical Skills - Knowledge of machining processes and procedures.

General understanding of inspection equipment, tooling, metalprocessing, and shop safety

Language Skills - Ability to read, and interpret blue prints includingdimensional and finish symbols. Ability to effectively present inquiriesand respond to questions from engineers, machinists, and others
Mathematical - Ability to understand and calculate dimensional andquantity figures in both fractions and decimals. Along with ability to applyconcepts of basic algebra and geometry
Reasoning - Ability to interpret work instructions and procedures. Identifyproblems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Computer - Competent in clocking in and off of work routing
Physical - must occasionally list and/or move up to 40 pounds
Work Environment - comfortable working in loud environment. Requiredpersonal protective equipment worn including safety glasses, steel-toedshoes, and ear protectionEducation:Enrollment in the York County School of Technology (YCST) 4 year preemploymentMachining program. Individual shall be in the 3rd or 4th year of theprogramAdditional InformationWhy American Hydro?
