    Duties

    In addition to leadership and training responsibilities, this position deals with resolving intricate, time-consuming, and potentially sensitive taxpayer accounts, involving thorough investigations into cases with significant financial liabilities.
    This position also:
  • Reviews training plans and assesses the progress of training.
  • Evaluates the case work of all team members and provides recommendations for further action.
  • Offers expert knowledge on all facets of collection activities to staff at all levels.
  • Conducts interviews to resolve challenging cases of delinquent tax liabilities with taxpayers and their representatives.
  • Analyzes credit details meticulously, conducts financial interviews, and assesses assets to ascertain the taxpayer's financial capacity.
  • Issues compliance tax assessments, initiates and files tax warrants in the county where a business is situated.
  • Delivers customer service during designated front counter support days and as needed for front counter assistance.

  • Qualifications

    Two years of experience as a Revenue Agent, with at least one year at the journey level within the Department of Revenue

    OR

    A bachelor's degree with a focus on business administration, accounting, public administration, political science, economics, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, law, or a closely related field

    AND

    Two years of experience in personal or business finance, tax auditing, law, law enforcement, claims adjustment, business tax records examination and analysis, civil debt collection, or other relevant fields.

    Additional qualifying experience can be substituted year-for-year for education.
