    Description

    Role: Boot Code Firmware Developer

    Duration: 1-year Contract

    Location: Folsom, CA

    Job Summary:

    • Understand architectural flows of Init and Boot-media management and develop features in Bootcode
    • Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to comprehend new features for Reset or Boot-media management
    • Estimate the time necessary to implement new features and any required environment changes
    • Responsible for SoC Bootrom development and delivery to Business units/SoC teams
    • Work with build flows of one or more microprocessor toolchains such as arm, risc-v, tensilica, etc.
    • Engage with HW accelerators and VCS-based hybrid simulation environment for firmware development and debugging
    • Provide debug support on different platforms like VCS/emulators/FPGA or post-si
    • Participate in feature definitions and test-planning process with technical insights
    • Debug test failures to identify root causes; collaborate with RTL and DV engineers to address design defects and resolve any test issues
    • Review functional and code coverage metrics to provide input to DV for required scenarios

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Solid grasp of C/C++ and firmware development using sim/emu environment
    • Familiarity with various microprocessor architectures and ISAs
    • Understanding of Initialization flows and Boot-media management
    • Hands-on experience in embedded firmware development
    • Clear understanding of ASIC verification tools and debugging techniques
    • Scripting ability in Ruby/Python or similar languages

    What Sets You Apart?

    • SoC Init and Bootmedia expertise is a plus
    • Experience in clocking/fabric topologies and debugging is a plus

    ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering
