    Job Description

    As the Engineering Development Manager for the Transformer Business in North America, you will play a pivotal role in leading engineers to develop next-generation transformers. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring quality, and optimizing processes for maximum efficiency.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and lead engineering development projects for "Product White space" for Distribution Transformers, Power Transformers, and Transformer Components.
    • Create and implement the simple Gate model for HUB development Projects.
    • Create and manage development project timelines.
    • Ensure the projects are moving to completion per the original time plan.
    • Coordinate product reviews for improvements per customer requests.
    • Establish design rules for Hub Development projects and roll out into factories.
    • Collaborate with factory engineering and design tool managers.
    • Collaborate with product management to convert new white space requests into practical projects for development and support development activities.
    • Supervise directly/functionally a team of engineers that support development.
    • Responsible for the technical requirement specs for the projects and supervise technical writer.

    Your Background

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Proven experience (5+) in engineering leadership roles, with a focus on transformer development.
    • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
    • Strong knowledge of transformer design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
    • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective team leadership and stakeholder engagement.
