    People Analytics Business Analyst

    Overview:


    The People Analytics Business Analyst consults with stakeholders inside & outside the organization and through effective analysis helps them understand the factors that affect the current workforce, so they can make better decisions, solve problems and ultimately make predictive decisions about the future workforce.

    The Data Analyst will also work closely with business People Analytics & Metrics resources to support them in their delivery of value-add analysis to their respective business areas and will support in the development of analytics skills & competencies for this group.

    Workforce Analysis:
    The Data Analyst will work closely with leaders as a data-driven advisor and partner on strategic issues.

    Through applying a consultative approach, ask the rights questions to understand the business priorities, understand problems to be solved and/or decisions to be made.

    Based on responses collect the required data, investigate / analyze the information, find the insights and establish implications and recommendations based on the obtained results.

    Help Leaders/ business leaders use the data to make 'informed' business decisions.
    The Data Analyst should enjoy both working with people and undertaking rigorous statistical/ data analyses.
    Execute quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights. Provide analytical and data-driven decision-making support for key topics.
    Provide reporting and performance monitoring to using data drawn from diverse sources.

    Understand the business context and user requirements to devise relevant metrics and decision models for evaluating performance and recommending future actions.

    Conduct data analysis, visualize result to tell a story, share insights and recommendations (not just numbers).

    • HR Analytics Technology
    Supports the evolution of the Analytics application.
    Work as a leading contributor to drive development of Analytics solution globally.
    Work closely with process owner and IT in design, development and improvement projects related to Analytics.
    Through understanding of the needs within different process areas, identify areas for improvement and contribute to reengineering initiatives to address deficiencies in existing system and apply better design principals

    • Desired Skills and Experience
    B.S. or B.A. in Math, Statistics, Comp Sci, Engineering, or other technical field required; advanced degrees strongly preferred
    Highly skilled at manipulating, transforming, and analyzing complex, high-volume, high- dimensionality data from varying sources
    Good understanding of statistical analysis. Utilize statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns for specific business cases.
    2+ years' experience performing quantitative analysis, preferably for an internet or technology company

    Preferred:
    Strong hands-on experience with SQL, data warehousing, data modelling, dashboarding and reporting, involving very large datasets and multiple data sources, with ability to interpret data and produce meaningful insights

    Preferred:
    Excellent SQL skills: extensive experience querying large, complex data sets
    Ability to execute research projects, and generate practical results and recommendations
    Good client management skills with a strong grasp of both technical and business perspectives
    Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
    Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
    Enjoy working in both individual and team settings
    Support data modelling for setting up the data warehouse from operational /transnational data.
    Explore new BI tools and support decision making on setting up business intelligence processes within the company.
    Collaborate with multiple cross functional teams.
    Support and positively influence others to achieve organizational and team objectives-Potentially manage a team in the near future.
    Preferred Qualifications
    Certificate in business analytics, data mining or statistical analysis
    2 years' experience with statistical programming languages (for example SAS)
    2 years' experience with SQL and relational databases (for example DB2, Oracle, SQL server)
    2 years' experience using a business intelligence (BI) tool (for example, Oracle) to create reports to specifications
    2 years' experience developing and testing website applications
