- Provide comprehensive care for obstetric and gynecological patients
- Manage Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery patients
- Perform strong maternal and fetal assessments
- Utilize Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) competently
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Provide newborn care and stabilization as needed
- Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care
- Collaborate closely with providers in a small-team rural setting
- Active RN license (must be currently active)
- BLS certification
- Labor & Delivery experience required
- Strong EFM skills
- Experience working in rural healthcare settings preferred
- Ability to function independently in a low-volume but high-responsibility environment
- 25-bed Critical Access Hospital
- Designated Level for Maternal and Neonatal Care (Level I)
- Averages 15–20 deliveries per month
- EMR: OBIX
- Level IV Trauma facility

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Registered Nurse for a 14-week travel assignment in Port Lavaca, TX. This is a rural Critical Access Hospital environment requiring strong clinical independence and full-spectrum L&D experience.
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Schedule: 3x12 Hour Night Shifts
Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours: 36 hours per week
Setting: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Nursery
This facility averages 15–20 deliveries per month and operates as a highly collaborative, cross-trained department.
Responsibilities
This unit is typically staffed with two nurses per shift, requiring flexibility and full-scope competency across roles.
Requirements
New graduates will not be considered.

Rural Critical Access Hospital seeking an experienced L&D RN comfortable working in a 2-nurse department. Must be strong in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery care with excellent assessment and EFM skills. Low-volume (15–20 deliveries/month) but high independence required. Rural experience preferred. Housing can be competitive in the area.
