- Welcoming and assisting children ages two through seven each day when they are dropped off at the Center.
- Answering the phone, door, and Procare messages.
- Ensure children are in the care of authorized individuals at all times and that the Center is following all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all persons involved in the program in accordance with Children's Center and Western Wyoming Community College policy.
- Make sure front desk area is welcoming, clean, and organized.
- Foster positive and constructive relationships with children, their families and staff.
- Treats all children with dignity and respect. Uses a warm, caring tone of voice, good body language and facial expression.
- Maintain current Tb test, CPR, first aid, child abuse and neglect, fire safety, blood borne pathogens, and other applicable trainings required. Trainings are provided.
- Planning healthy daily snack menus and assisting with keeping kitchen clean and organized.
- Shopping for supplies.
- Making sure lunches get put in the fridge in a timely manner.
- Organizing and updating children's book area.
- Assisting with washing towels and blankets.
- Organizing field trips.
- Designing and putting up bulletin boards
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate
- Experience with and passion for working with children
- Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
- Ability to pass criminal background check with child abuse screening
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education
- Education or experience in office administrative assistance

Expectations and Nature of the Position
The individual selected for this position will be responsible for assisting the Director with front desk area, answering the front door and phone, and helping to manage Procare software.
The College expects this individual to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed.
In addition, this individual must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with College personnel and the public.
This individual will follow all college policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines as they relate to this position.Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
This position requires prolonged standing, sitting, climbing, and frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. Position may require lifting up to 40 pounds.
Additional requirements include:
hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, ability to multi-task and be constantly alert to children's activities and well-being.
Finally, the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and the ability to use a computer, telephone, copier, printer and scanner.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
While performing the duties of the position, the employee works in an indoor office setting, with a lot of walking back and forth to classrooms, the gymnasium, and the outdoor playground.
The employee also does the bulk of the shopping and is expected to carry loads of groceries/supplies to from the parking lot to the kitchen area.
