    Job Title: Cloud Transformation Architect

    Duration: 12+ Months

    Location: Chicago, IL (Other locations available are Kennesaw, GA and Chandler, AZ, and requires 3 days a week onsite

    Required Pay Scale: $80-85/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)

    As a member of the cloud engineering team you will be responsible for designing and architecting cloud infrastructure strategy and services for our client's Cloud Transformation initiative. We are seeking a visionary and results-driven technologist to help drive the transformation of our internal cloud platform. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our Internal Cloud Transformation efforts (requirements engineering, solution design, architecture, product delivery, product management, and engineering governance) remain aligned to our primary goal to modernize and optimize our internal cloud infrastructure. You will also play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing manual interventions, and ensuring seamless integration of automation across the various IT functions that comprise our Internal Cloud Platform. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background and a proven track record of successfully driving cloud transformation within enterprise environments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Requirements Engineering: (1) Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for the cloud software platform transformation; (2) Define clear and measurable goals and objectives for the transformation initiative.
    • Solution Design and Architecture: (1) Work with stakeholders to design and develop modern and scalable cloud software architecture; (2) Ensure that the solution architecture aligns with industry best practices, security standards, and business needs; (3) Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform architectural decisions; (4) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and resilient software architectures.
    • Engineering Governance: (1) Establish and enforce engineering governance processes for the cloud software platform; (2) Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with security, performance, and operational standards.
    • Transformation Leadership: (1) Provide strategic leadership for the cloud software platform transformation initiative; (2) Provide technical guidance to ensure the successful execution of transformation projects; (3) Inspire and guide cross-functional teams towards achieving transformation goals; (4) Drive cloud software platform transformation initiatives, optimizing existing systems and integrating new technologies.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: (1) Collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT leadership, business units, and technology partners, to align the cloud software platform with organizational objectives; (2) Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively.

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Extensive experience in cloud platform transformation, including requirements engineering, solution design, architecture, product management, product delivery, and engineering governance.
    • Deep hardware and software technology knowledge of products used to provide compute/cloud hosting capacity (i.e. server, OS, Virtualization, management tools, etc.) including a common programming language (i.e. Python, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization technologies and related services and trends.
    • Proven leadership experience in large-scale technology transformations.
    • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
    • Experience with full-stack development and engineering.
    • Proficient in software design principles and patterns.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience working with Agile development processes.
