Charleston area real-estate company seeking qualified Vice President, Controller, and Treasurer .

This role will report to Chief Financial Officer and will oversee accounting and reporting for all company entities, as well as board and management reporting.

This person will handle the companys cash management and manage ongoing lending relationships. The role will also include oversight of risk management, insurance, tax planning, and compliance.

RequirementsAt least 10-12 years in progressively responsible financial management and accounting roles with real estate companies or accounting firms serving real estate clients.

Strong accounting and reporting skills; thorough understanding of GAAP reporting requirements; capable of delivering timely financial metrics for executive management to use in running the businesses; candidates should also have exposure to tax as well.

Analytical skills; innate understanding of how numbers fit together; proficient at developing cash flow forecasting models & budgeting analysis.

Leadership ability; must possess a heightened sense of internal expectations and high standards; must have a participative, team building style; will work to obtain buy-in from his/her subordinates & peers; will command respect, not demand it.

Organizational skills; must be accustomed to an environment where multi-tasking is the norm and be able to practice the right balance between details & big picture.

Professional presence ; must have a personal style that suggests he/she will be effective in dealing with the companys bankers, investors, and/or key suppliers;Results oriented ; someone who sets high performance and accountability standards; a doer accustomed to rolling up his/her sleeves to make things happen; sense of urgency.

Team Player ; while the person must be ambitious, this ambition should be directed at the success of the company/team rather than personal goals; must have strong convictions;Process Oriented ; will need to focus on streamlining various processes, along with a priority on software implementation.
