    Job Summary
    The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering ) at the Georgia Institute of Technology (CEEatGT) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with priority in the areas of: Environmental Engineering and Geosystems Engineering. All degree programs in the School are ranked in the top five US programs.

    Applicants will be considered at all ranks in any of the School's research areas, with emphasis on multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and crosscutting activities. Faculty candidates are particularly sought in Environmental Engineering, with emphasis on air pollution and global change, urban systems and sustainability, and environmental public health. Faculty candidates are particularly sought in Geosystems Engineering, with emphasis on sustainable urban geotechnics, bio-inspired and bio-mediated geotechnics, multi-scale/multi-physics modelling of subsurface systems and processes, and application of data science in addressing system level geo-infrastructure safety and resilience. Faculty candidates in other areas of Civil Engineering including Structural Engineering Mechanics and Materials (SEMM), Construction and Infrastructure Systems Engineering (CISE), Water Resources Engineering (WRE) and Transportation Systems Engineering (TSE) will be considered, particularly those with expertise in leveraging data science to address issues in those disciplinary areas.

    We seek candidates whose work contributes to the School's interdisciplinary, crosscutting research areas of smart cities, sustainable systems, healthy communities, and resilient infrastructure systems. Further, the School seeks to expand its research and teaching expertise in interdisciplinary areas that address global grand challenges. Preference will be given to candidates at the assistant professor level, but exceptional candidates at the associate professor or professor levels will be considered. Along with undergraduate and graduate teaching, each position requires a balance of research and service responsibilities. Candidates shall have either demonstrated or shown a clear potential for creative and independent research that would lead to a strong, extramurally funded research program and national/international recognition.

This position will support faculty development to enable realization of the School's strategic objectives for education. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to faculty development, and the teaching and mentoring of students.

    Required Qualifications
    A Ph.D. or equivalent qualification is required by the start of the appointment.

    Candidates shall have either demonstrated or shown a clear potential for creative and independent research that would lead to a strong extramurally funded research program and national and international recognition.
