Description
Leads the Network Services team and manages the strategy, design, and support of global network systems and services for both public and private network infrastructure (LAN/WAN).
Leads the global team of network engineers to direct operations, support, and enhancements to the production network to ensure the availability of the systems required to support the business objectives of RGA.
Develops and maintains relationships with RGA IT and business team leaders to foster and enhance communication between groups.Responsibilities
Performs supervisory duties including, but not limited to; hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports. Mentors associates within the department.
Manages operations and engineering of network infrastructure supporting our multi-cloud, on-prem and cloud based platforms for RGA globally.
Manages deployment of network technology systems and services globally.
Leads and manages large, complex projects for
Network Services:
plans the scope, develops schedules, monitors costs/budgets and allocates resources.
Maintains and fosters internal client relationships.
Takes ownership of the relationship and ensures that clients' objectives are met and gains understanding when the objectives are not feasible.
Maintains current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practicesPartners with global business units and IT leaders to coordinate network activities.
Accountable for appropriate monitoring of network connectivity and capacity to ensure high quality data transmission for business services.
Serve as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred
Master's degree and/or LOMA certification
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
8+ years IT leadership experience, preferably in managing and supporting network infrastructure and teams.
Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop staff. Ability to manage staff members who are difficult or resistant to leadership.
Highly advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.
Experience operating and supporting Cisco network platforms
Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer.
Expert ability to translate business needs and problems into systems' design and technical solutions.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced knowledge of broad business and finance related practices
Advanced ability to work well within and manage a team
Ability to manage multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
Ability to adapt new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
Insurance or Financial industry experience highly preferred
