Job Summary:
The National Guard Medical Records Clerk is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and securing Soldier medical and dental records in both paper and electronic formats. The role ensures compliance with Army regulations and supports medical readiness activities by maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain, and safeguard Soldier medical and dental records.
- Scan, index, and upload documents into electronic medical systems (HRR, AHLTA, Genesis).
- Review records for completeness and compliance prior to readiness events, deployment, or separation.
- Process requests for release of medical information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information.
- Prepare medical forms, correspondence, and reports.
- Provide administrative support to medical readiness operations.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of clerical or medical records experience (medical environment preferred).
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to safeguard confidential information and potentially obtain a security clearance.
