    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are seeking a Radiation Therapistto:
    • Join our world-class team of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals in providing everything from preventive health care to highly specialized programs.
    • Provide quality care in a compassionate patient- and family- centered environment.
    • Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescription.
    • Perform established procedures following hospital and department philosophy, policies and standards.
    • Greet patients and explain procedures answering and questions or alleviating fears regarding procedure or radiation exposure.
    • Properly potion patients and equipment according to the oncologists prescription while respecting patient ability and comfort.
    • Monitor, maintain and perform equipment quality control checks maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment and reporting malfunctions to proper resources.
    • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.
    • Responsible for all billing and charges.
    EDUCATION/TRAINING:

    Graduate of an approved school of Radiation Therapy Technology program.

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

    Current license from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and current certification (or eligible for certification) in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
    • Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
    • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships and clearly and calmly communicate in English both verbally and win writing with patients, medical staff and the public.
