Job Description SummarySystems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process.
All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs.
The systems engineer will be responsible to support the GE90 fleet, leading/supporting field problem resolution, and work with regulators on engine level system issues.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
As the Systems Engineer, you will:
Provide technical guidance on performance, software, control system, engine parameters etc. to GE90 Systems and Design Engineering. Work with regulators and customer as needed.
Work closely with the fleet support and product support team to support GE90 base and growth fleet for engine level issues.
Lead/Mentor US and global design and product support team to support GE90 production, repair and/or field plan.Drive root cause and containment for field issues.
Support Product Line and Design Team to ensure rapid resolution of quality and delivery issues
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Participate in cross-functional projects and present outcomes to business leaders around part certification, as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 8 years' experience in advanced engine design or engine systems integration
Desired Characteristics
Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Prior systems integration, performance or SPOCT experience
Prior hardware owner, understanding of Cert/CID process.
Prior PSE, understanding of ICA process
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Ability to work on continuous improvement of processes, including TOPS8D, manufacturing program, product change management (Tollgate), Safety and Quality.
Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly procedures.
Interest in being a self-starter with a focus on problem solving and driving solutions.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
