    Job Description:

    The Analyst, Corporate ESG and Sustainability position will collaborate with the Vice President and Manager, Corporate ESG and Sustainability on data, reporting, projects and other initiatives related to environmental sustainability and corporate ESG.

    The position will report to the Vice President, Corporate ESG and Sustainability, and will engage with our portfolio operating partners, sustainability service providers and internal corporate functions, including Asset Management, Investments, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, and Investor Relations.

    ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Data Management and ESG ReportingLead environmental data collection, management and analysis, including:

    Implementation, maintenance and oversight of utility bill collection for Ventass 1,400+ property portfolio, including operator and third-party bill pay outreach/coordination, collaboration with Ventass third-party data partner, and ongoing quality assurance of data setOversight and support of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions calculations, in collaboration with third partiesDevelopment of data outputs/visualizations and analytics to understand drivers of changes in emissions, energy, water and wasteTracking of progress against Ventas environmental goals (emissions, energy, water, waste) and other ESG goalsAssist in the reporting process for ESG reports, surveys and frameworks, including, but not limited to the Ventas Corporate Sustainability Report, GRESB, CDP and oversight of asset-level data reporting to GRESBPortfolio Sustainability and ResilienceAssist with proposals for financially accretive investments in energy, water and waste efficiency projects throughout the Ventas portfolio, and manage project implementation:Work with vendors and operating partners to identify and evaluate portfolio opportunitiesAnalyze and evaluate proposals, including confirmation of project costs and savings, underwriting of vendor qualifications, and other relevant diligence related to accounting, tax, legal, asset management, etc.

    Prepare materials for internal approval presentationsManage vendor contract negotiations and set-up processOversee project implementation; track progress to ensure timely and successful implementation and project resultsCollaborate with operating partners and service providers to obtain green and health & wellness building certifications, including LEED, ENERGY STAR, IREM CSP, WELL, Fitwel, etc.

    ESG Due Diligence for AcquisitionsLead the ESG due diligence process for new acquisitions, in collaboration with Ventas ESG, Investments and Risk teamsRequest and review due diligence materials from sellersPrepare assessment of ESG risks and opportunitiesESG Strategy and MarketingWork with ESG team to develop and implement ESG strategy and goals, including Ventas Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) effortsPrepare materials for the Ventas internal ESG Steering Committee and Nominating, Governance and Corporate Responsibility Committee of the Board of DirectorsDevelop sustainability and corporate ESG content for Ventas website and Investor Relations materials in collaboration with Marketing & Communications and Investor RelationsSupport and drive ESG recognitions and award submissions, such as Green Lease LeadersParticipate in and serve as a Company ambassador at ESG conferences, webinars, industry meetings and training sessionsQualificationsBachelors degree requiredIdeal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in corporate ESG/sustainability, real estate investments or asset management, corporate operations or finance, management consulting, investment banking or similarAwareness of and/or experience with implementation of sustainability and/or ESG initiatives is desiredFamiliarity with real estate investment and operations is desiredHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExcellent quantitative, written, and oral communication skillsExhibits a high level of responsiveness, sense of urgency, attention to detail and the ability and desire to produce high-quality workBias for action; strong initiative and results-orientedIntellectually curious - a quick learner who combines previous professional and personal experiences to offer new ideas and solutionsWillingness to travel ~5-10%Ventas, Inc.
