    Select Electric, Inc. based out of Vista, CA has an excellent Opportunity for a Project Manager.

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of all projects (jobs) assigned to him or her.

    Provide direction and guidance to Superintendents, field foreman, and project engineers on all projects. Oversee the execution and completion of all assigned projects.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Key amongst his/her duties is the recognition that risk directly impacts the likelihood of success and that this risk must be both formally and informally measured throughout the lifetime of the project.

    Maintain open lines of communication.
    Responsible for making decisions both small and large, in such a way that risk is controlled and uncertainty minimized.
    Responsible for all assigned projects (e.g. highway, traffic signal, and communications) to establish and ensure budgets, schedules, materials, sub-contractors and crews are on target and profitable for all assigned jobs.
    Monitors overall quantity and quality of work performed on all assigned jobs.

    Ultimate responsibility for the review and approval of all expenses for each assigned job; ensure they are applied to the proper job and phase code.

    Provides guidance and direction to the billing department as needed; e.g. provide schedule of values, answer questions on applied costs or billing requirements per the contract.
    Oversees process for changes orders and other circumstances changing the scope of work and payment for such changes.

    Monitors contract compliance for each job to ensure the company is protected regarding liabilities matters and liens (collection matters).Serves as senior technical advisor.

    Participates in resolving difficult issues or start-up problems.
    Responsible for all personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.) on assigned projects.
    Responsible for resolving labor disputes and related negotiations as requiredEnsures compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    Implements safety programs as directed by the Safety Department.
    Responsible for verifying that craft and supervision assigned to the projects are completing the appropriate training programs.
    Follows and ensures compliance with all company safety program requirements.
    Promotes safety among peers, subordinates and supervisors,Performs additional assignments at the direction of the Division Manager and/or Vice President.


    EDUCATION:
    A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    Construction Management Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
    A 4-year engineering degree preferred but not required.
    Primavera Scheduling or similar scheduling software.
    Accubid or similar estimating software experience.
    Spectrum program, or equivalent, experience.


    LICENSE:
    Possess or ability to obtain a valid class C California driver's license and a California Electrical Certification (Journeyman's License)

    EXPERIENCE:
    A minimum of 8 years' experience in similar type construction environment required.
    Proven experience in effectively managing construction personnel and projects.
    Proven experience in effectively managing the financial aspects of jobs to ensure the best possible profit.

    Proven experience in understanding and effectively managing contracts to ensure compliance with terms and protect the company's rights in lien and collection matters.


    SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, planning and analytical skills required.

    Must possess a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve interpersonal conflicts as well as more systematic management skills.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit for prolong periods.

    The employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
    Ability to operate a motor vehicle, required.

    Working conditions consists of temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat when working with in open environments, driving from various locations or attending meetings, etc.

    Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on work location.
