This EE will work within a cross functional team to design, develop, test, and maintain electronic circuit card assemblies.

This company has built a strong reputation as the leading provider of cutting-edge technology, delivering location and mapping indoors, underground and in dense urban areas where GPS is not available or is unreliable.

Their technology dramatically improves situational awareness and keeps personnel safer in industrial, public safety, and military environments.

This Electrical Engineer position reports to a principal engineer and will have high visibility in a fast paced, high growth environment.

In this role you will design and integrate new sensor system hardware and also contribute to development of low level embedded firmware.

You will be involved in development from concept through to customer fielding and support transition of prototypes to scalable production.

    Tasks include:
Generate concepts, create design documentation, and develop electronics circuit cards and accessories.
Design and implement circuitry with embedded processors, sensors, RF transceivers, ADCs, SD Memory, and digital interface on 4-8 layer PCBs
Integrate MEMS motion sensors including gyros, accelerometers, magnetic field sensors, pressure sensors, etc.
Perform library generation, schematic capture, and board layout using Altium Designer
Source components and create formal BOM and PCB design packages ready for manufacture.
Create embedded software projects using Kiel MDK and STM32 CubeMX
Provide firmware for necessary hardware abstraction for use by embedded software developers
Debug and test newly developed circuit card assemblies

Use basic test equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, digital logic analyzer, and bench supplies/meters to test and validate designs.

Design for efficient manufacturing and assembly
Optimize bill of materials for cost, reduced complexity, and supply chain concerns
Design and develop electronics for ruggedized handheld and vehicle mounted navigation equipment.
Design electrical systems for engineering test, R&D efforts, and prototypes.
Apply expertise to help solve electrical issues that arise with new and existing products
Occasional travel for field support and/or test event support.

    Important areas of experience include:

2-5 years of relevant industry experience.
Must be able and willing to obtain secret level DoD security clearance.
Strong understanding of basic analog and digital electronics design principles
    Electrical board development, programming, debugging
Understanding of design for manufacture and design for assembly considerations
Knowledge of best practice for designing for electromagnetic compatibility
Experience with embedded systems, micro-controllers, and their interfaces
Integration of satellite receiver modules and design constraints
    C/C++ embedded programming experience.
Attention to detail and ability to balance optimal performance with power, memory, processing, and other user requirements
    Schematic capture using Altium Designer
Board layout in Altium (ideally experience with flex, rigid flex, and controlled impedance)
Microcontroller programming in C to provide software interfaces to software developers
Ability to use basic test and measurement equipment
Ability to design, execute, and report on experiments for new development and root cause analysis efforts

Additional skills that would be beneficial:

Signal processing primarily using Matlab or Python
Working knowledge of basic digital filtering and signal analysis
Display and camera and or vision sensor interfaces
