Senior FPGA Engineer - Houston, United States - Skylark Wireless LLC

Description

We are looking for an experienced developer with an intimate understanding of and experience with FPGA programming and DSP architectures, ideally for wireless communications. You will implement and test new and existing DSP blocks for a 5G Massive MIMO wireless communications network stack implemented on a scalable Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platform. You will be responsible for implementing, integrating, and testing core HDL IP blocks within our system and integrating them with proprietary FPGA-based hardware and software systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Verilog/VHDL
• C/C++
• AMD/Xilinx Vivado, Xilinx ISE, Intel/Altera
• DSP architectures, memory management, high-speed serial interfaces
• Ability to troubleshoot/debug Linux-based embedded systems
• Degree in electrical or computer engineering (Ph.D./Masters/Bachelors)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ideal Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with software-defined radios (e.g. USRP, GNURadio)
• Linux, Python, LTE (4G, 5G) protocol simulation and implementation
• Intimate knowledge of wireless communications PHY and MAC layers
• Working knowledge of radio physics and algorithms related to OFDMA and digital beamforming
• LTE (4G, 5G) protocol knowledge
