    This position provides care to athletes who have impairments, functional limitations or changes in physical function and health status as a result of injury, illness or other causes with occasional guidance by collaborating with the health care team using modalities, personnel, equipment and supply resources.


    Formal Education / Training:
    # Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) from an accredited athletic training program at a college or university.
    # Equipment and Skills Training:

    Must be competent in the use of electronic medical record documentation software.

    Designated sport activities/events in local school environments.

    Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both orally and in writing, and lift over 20 pounds.


    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
    # Supports the full range of athletic programs at school by providing comprehensive athletic healthcare, including injury evaluation, injury treatment, and rehabilitation services.
    # Collaborates with the healthcare team in establishing athletic training and sports medicine services plan of care.
    # Continually utilizes athletic training skills and resources to reevaluate functional capabilities towards optimal, safe participation, and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
    # Coordinates referrals to other medical services as indicated.
    # Records and maintains appropriate medical records for treatment given.
    # Provides medical emergency coverage to injured student athletes at practices and athletics events as needed. Administers first aid until appropriate medical assistance can be obtained
