Position Summary:
Provide direct individualized personal care to residents and maintain positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
CNA's report directly to the charge nurse.Qualifications:
Must have active nursing assistance certification
Must be in good standing with the state of Kansas
Responsibilities:
Meet attendance and punctuality guidelines
Adhere to dress code; no t-shirts, tank tops, cut offs, open-toed shoes or jeans (with the exception of Friday) are allowed.
Attend required monthly department meetings and All Staff in-service programsTreat residents, resident families and co-workers with respect and courtesy
Complete mandatory education by due dates (i.e. CareLearning courses)
Follow acknowledged and signed Standards of Behavior
Adhere to policies and procedures
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
Addresses and responds to residents and staff in a pleasant, respectful manner
Works as a team member and maintains a positive attitude
Maintains confidentiality of resident's information and honors resident's privacy
Appropriately shares resident information with the charge nurse and during report at shift change
Treats residents with dignity and respect at all times
Strictly adheres to resident's rights
Assist with the individualization process of ADL's for each resident
Assist other CNAs even when not assigned a hall
Able to change work area as requested to maintain best interest of the facility
Uses imagination and offers new ideas to implement more effective and suitable methods
Performs documentation of tasks appropriately
Assists residents to and from designated activities
Assists residents to and from hair appointments and assist with transfers as needed
Maintain the ADL (Activities of Daily Living) flow-sheet and notebook system for each designated hall
Provides or assists with scheduled bath care for residents
Provides or assists with daily oral care
Dresses residents appropriately for the weather and resident's preference
Provides or assists residents with hair care
Offers and provides back rubs
Provides appropriate skin care in correlation and under supervision of charge nurse
Provides appropriate positional change as per care plan
Provides clean linens to each resident weekly by housekeeping and PRN by nursing staff
Weighs and records vital signs as per care plan in correlation with charge nurse
Provides or assists with toileting or incontinence care as per care plan
Reports alterations in resident's normal elimination pattern to charge nurse in timely manner
Provides adequate hydration each shift and snacks for nutrition to residents
Assist with drinks and meals in dining room and assisted meal room
Participates in Quality Assurance measures
Performs any task assigned by your supervisor or Administrator
This position is classified as an OSHA risk category I, indicating that the job poses a risk for exposure to blood or body fluids.
