    **Description**

    **Thomas Cuisine is hiring a Full-Time Prep Cook/Dishwasher for The Eating Recovery Center.** This **Prep Cook/Dishwasher** position requires a friendly, outgoing person with the ability to communicate effectively while working in a professional manner. This position demands an employee with a thorough understanding of HACCP processes and food safety. The employee will demonstrate exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to follow a recipe and make recipe conversions accurately. The position requires that the employee maintains a high level of attention to detail at all times when executing recipes and snacks. The employee is expected to work as part of a team, while also possessing the ability to function as a self-driven and independent component of the kitchen operation. The position will require the ability to work mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends as needed.

    **$17.50+/hr. DOE** **Thursday-Friday; 2 dishwashing shifts, 2 prep shifts** **Responsibilities:**

    Preps meals and/or snacks by reviewing assigned tally sheets, snack lists, recipes, and portion guides; measuring, assembling, and combining ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary station in accordance with standard food safety procedures.

    Attends to the detail and presentation of prepared snacks or cold items according to diet restrictions, allergies, and prescribed meal plans.

    Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; verifying taste; and plating.

    Completes snacks/or cold menu items as assigned per day, with the highest quality and presentation in mind.

    Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.

    Stores leftovers according to established standards.

    A clear understanding of weights and measures, with the ability to compute recipe conversions if needed.

    Assists with receiving and storage of deliveries following FIFO procedure.

    Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas throughout the work day.

    Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.

    Completes daily check-out list and reviews with Supervisor before leaving for the day.

    Can work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

    Works as part of the team.

    Listens to client complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints professionally within the scope of expertise.

    Implements suggestions within the parameter of position and refers more complex concerns to the supervisor.

    Participates in and contributes to kitchen huddles and in-services.

    Follows all hospital and departmental policies and procedures as directed.

    Follows directions of the Department Managers, Supervisors, and Leads.

    Perform other duties as assigned by Department Leaders.

    **Qualifications and Skills:**

    Minimum 6 months of hospital, institutional, or restaurant cooking experience to include food preparation

    High school diploma or GED.

    Demonstrates knowledge of and skill in the ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment.
