    POSITION SUMMARY

    Under the direction of the Director of Acute Care Nursing Services, the Nursing manager performs managerial functions for Surgical Services Department. The nurse manager has 24/7 responsibility for leading the clinical team. The manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring the provision of high quality nursing care in the OR Unit following established policies and procedures. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic planning of the patient care area. This includes scheduling, staffing, budget development, process and performance improvement. This position will work diligently to ensure the needs of the departments patient and staff are met.

    This is a part-time manager position averaging 2 to 3 days per week. Surgeries are only performed on Monday.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
    • A Bachelor's Degree is required, a Graduate degree is preferred. (Associate degree and equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's)
    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in West Virginia, required
    • ACLS certification, required
    EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of one (1) year Operating Room/PACU experience, 5+ years of relevant professional nursing experience is preferred.
    • Minimum of one (1) year critical care experience, 3+ years of progressive nursing leadership/management experience is preferred.
