    Summary

    The Pre-operative Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for patients undergoing invasive surgical procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates competency in assessing patients, planning, and coordinating their care. The registered nurse participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other disciplines to provide evidence based medical care for the patient.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

    Required Licenses/Certifications

    • Current state licensure or eligibility to do so
    • BLS certification

    Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

    • Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
    • Patient assessment skills.
