    BAE Systems is seeking a self-motivated and experienced candidate to support the Mobility Air Forces Automated Flight Planning Services (MAFPS) program as a Product Support Specialist
    MAFPS cloud-based applications generate 4-D optimized flight plans that meet complex global airspace business rules to support the USAF's Air Mobility Command's 618th Air Operations Center (AOC) daily global airlift, aerial refueling and aeromedical evacuation operations
    MAFPS is integrated in the US Air Force network and operates 24/7/365
    This position is located at Scott AFB, IL, near St
    Louis, MO
    The MAFPS Product Support Specialist will be part of an integrated Operations & Sustainment team providing critical 24x7 mission support to our customer and will interface with site operations personnel and engineering resources located at the MAFPS development facility in San Diego, CA
    The Product Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational readiness of the MAFPS application, supporting infrastructure and interfaces and assists with system maintenance and upgrade activities
    The qualified candidate is also responsible for investigation, documentation and tracking of operational issues and performing problem escalation with vendor, factory, and on-site Subject Matter Experts (SME) as required
    Shift work, including weekends, is required to support AOC's 24/7/365 operations
    Shift premiums are applied to base pay for second and third shift work
    Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status and an active Secret security clearance

    • Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Bachelors degree and 6 years work experience.
    • Air Force Operations
    • Civil and Military aviation principles for flight planning and navigation
    • Understanding of complex Information Technology systems and data management
    • Experience in a systems administration or operational support role
    • Current Security + Certification
    • Strong knowledge of UNIX/LINUX based operating system
    • Working knowledge of VMWare
    • Working knowledge of networks, network infrastructure and common components
    • Understanding of principles of SQL query language and operating systems
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required
    • Strong Customer Service skills
    • Must be able to work well in a team environment and be self-motivated
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications - Excel, PowerPoint and Word Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Air Mobility Command operations knowledge
    • Knowledge of systems integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and methods, and project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment
    • Ability to modify existing systems and relate all aspects of the work to overall system requirements, to stay well informed on rapidly changing technology, to advise on and implement new technology, to evaluate its possible impact on organization missions, to develop strategies to satisfy requirements, and to offer alternative approaches in operating systems development and/or problem resolution
    • Ability log support activities in the government-directed trouble ticket system, e.g
    Remedy, and Mission Planning Enterprise Deficiency Report (EDR) system, as appropriate Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range:
    $ $149100 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures
    However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience
